At SSEF events and races, we rely on a dedicated team of volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the event.
We have a range of certified and non-certified positions available, both for skiing and non-skiing enthusiasts. Whether you’re an expert skier or prefer to help behind the scenes, there’s a role for everyone.
Our volunteer positions include working with stopwatches, assisting racers at the start, controlling the finish area for safety, helping to slip the course, and providing race administration support. We also need expert skiers to act as Ninjas, ensuring the venue remains safe throughout the event.
NON-SNOWBASIN Ski Team Volunteers: Receive a lift ticket for the day they work, as well as another lift ticket at the end of a full day of work. The lift ticket received after a full day of work for events held prior to March can be redeemed for the 2023-24 seasonal year. For March race workers, the lift ticket is redeemable for either the current season or the 2024-25 seasonal year.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to run an Alpine Race? There is an array of certified and non-certified positions that are required for every race. As a Ski Racing Entity, we need volunteers to work stopwatches, help racers get into position at the start, finish controllers to make sure the finish area stays safe, people to help slip the course to keep the race venue safe and the indoor cush job of a race administrator!
To learn more about the different jobs, take a peek at the information linked below. We will have certified training Nov 2 & Nov 7, 2023 – 7-9pm both nights. Nov 2 is class work. Nov 7th will be test taking for those jobs that require certification.
