The Oakland Tech Boys Soccer Program needs help building our program and funding coaches, uniforms and equipment. Oakland Athletic League funding has been cut by $70,000 leaving each team with only $40.
The OT boys soccer teams are a diverse group reflective of our school and larger community. For many players, this is the only opportunity they have to play soccer. All players are required to attend mandatory study hall to help them to be not only athletes, but also scholars. Volunteer coaches are OT graduates that want to give back to the program that was so important to them. They are mentors to the boys both on and off the field.
Our immediate goal is to purchase a set of uniforms with OT decals so that the boys can wear their school colors with pride. (Currently, for two teams, there are only 7 matching sets of uniforms!) We also are raising funds to provide a stipend to the volunteer coaches. To reach these goals, we need to raise $2,000.
